Si TPers

Si TPers On the left, is ‘si tpers’, teknologi pendidikan-ers (students’ of educational technology).  The term ‘si tpers was raised in early 2005 at the Super-camp.  Si tpers holds a palm-top type of computer on its left hand and a drawing brush on the right.  Palm-top symbolizes the digital era that influences learning and instruction, while the drawing brush is for conventional pattern of schools.  Both are appropriate for the 21st schools, at the era of the globalization.  21st century learners have the capacity of being self-directed since all facilities are at their finger tips.

There is a moral standard vision beneath si tpers : Technology, Creativity, and Fun for learning as explained :

technology :  technology advancement enhances the quality of the 21st learning and instruction model
creativity :  the 21st generation focuses on the capability of being dynamic and future-oriented with nonlinear pattern of thinking and learning; creativity supports every individual student to be self-directed learner
fun for learning :  learning may be created through both formal and nonformal situations.  Learning should be fun and motivating to every individual learner.

Bright colors represent the spirit of young, dynamic, open, innovative generations.

The official homepage / website is named after a famous island, which has become a worldwide icon, Bali. Homepage is www.web-bali.net, that is web-based Learning Indonesia.  The homepage is constructed to promote the department as a whole system.  There are spaces for :

 

  • who’s who : all about the instructors; or hyperlink to every individual instructor’s blog

  • publication : books, articles, synopsis of instructors, or hyperlink to educational technology publications.

  • department : all about the department.

  • gallery : students

  • art and culture : information or news regarding art and culture of Indonesia

  • courses: hyperlink to web-based learning and instruction for online courses offered by the department.

  • web-bali : all about web-bali.net and its roles in the Dept of CET.

 

Websites are www.courses.web-bali.net and www.training.web-bali.net.  These are official websites built up for different functions.  Domain www.courses.web-bali is created to offer online, web-based courses for the benefit of all students of Dept of Curriculum and Educational Technology; while www.training.web-bali.net is a space for trainees to practice designing online courses including content, learning assessment, virtual instructional strategies and product development.  Both websites apply ‘claroline (classroom online)’, from an open source, which belongs to LCMS, as the platform.  This platform focuses upon activities conducted in a virtual classroom.  The web-based courses becomes as part of the curriculum offered by the department, as a subsystem or an enrichment program for conventional instruction.  It is a hybrid learning program that is able to solve the lack of classrooms and the over limit of students.

Blogs are www.teknologipendidikan.net and www.tpers.net , publish articles, comments, discussions on educational/instructional technology issues.  It may be useful as a discussion forum or a space for sharing ideas and knowledge among those who are educational technologists or people interested in the field.

The Department of CET in Brief

Curriculum & Educational Technology

The department of Educational Technology was built in 1976 with the support of Center for Communication, Instructional, and Information Technology. In the mid of 1978, the department of Curriculum was to join the department of Educational Technology which, then became the department of Curriculum and Educational Technology (CET). By the decree of Minister for Education and Culture of 2055/D/1995, degree program for Curriculum Development was closed, but the name remains the same until now. In 2005 the department was accredited A by the National Accreditation Board of Indonesia. In 2009 the dept of CET launches its official homepage (www.web-bali.net) and websites (www.courses.web-bali.net & www.training.web-bali.net as well as blogs (www.teknologipendidikan.net & www.tpers.net ). This is to improve the performance of the organization by initiating hybrid learning programs.

The Department of CET has three areas : instructional management, instructional media development, and performance technology. Every individual student may choose his / her own interest on the program. In order to have the right perspectives, the department offers several basic courses which are :

  1. Introduction to Educational Technology.
  2. Instructional Design
  3. Foundations for Educational Technology
  4. Basic Media Production
  5. Performance Technology
  6. Designing E-learning.


Instructional management area focuses on building up competencies of school programs related to curriculum development, management of strategies and learning resources. Meanwhile, instructional media development emphasizes on competencies of media development and evaluation. Performance Technology is for competencies of performance improvement in an organization.

To support the teachers’ certification program, the department designs trainings and workshop for teachers. Those activities are related to :

  1. Instructional Design
  2. Media Production
  3. Web-based learning (content design and online assessment for learning)
  4. Script Writing (for Instructional Media)
  5. Designing Micro (classroom oriented) Curriculum
  6. Multimedia for Presentation.


Beside those program, the dept of CET may also open program for Consulting by sending instructors to prospective learning organizations and schools.

  • Pada tahun 2020 menjadi salah satu jurusan unggulan*  dalam menghasilkan tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan dalam bidang perekayasaan pembelajaran  pada berbagai lembaga pendidikan, berdasarkan kaidah etika*.
